TM (or Touch Mobile) is a Filipino-based brand that provides cellular services. On 27th June 2023, the company launched a portal for TM SIM registration.

This portal was per the recently passed SIM Registration Act, which aimed to reduce scam texts, calls, and other fraudulent activities employing SIM registration TM. Through this portal, all current, and future SIM owners can register their SIM cards.

How to Register TM SIM Card Online?

The registration process differs a bit for users, depending on whether it’s for a prepaid subscription or at-home prepaid Wi-Fi. You can refer to the section as per your user type.

Steps of registration

Without further ado, let’s walk you through the steps to register SIM card TM using the online portal. 

TM SIM Registration For Prepaid Users

Being a prepaid subscriber, you can follow the below steps:

  1. Visit the official Globe TM registration portal.

  1. Accept their cookies and choose your preferred language.
  1. Enter your 10-digit phone number and click the Register button.
    Enter your number.
  1. Wait for the OTP to be sent to your number.
    Copy the OTP.
  1. Enter the 6-digit code in the portal.
  1. You’ll be automatically redirected to the details page.
  1. Enter the required details, i.e., name, birthday, gender, and nationality.
    Enter personal details.
  1. Select the correct Registration type and click Next.
  1. On the new page, select the identity type and enter the ID number.
    Enter ID number and ID type.
  1. Attach your identification proof and a selfie.

Please select an image whose size is less than 2 MB. Any larger file will not be uploaded. Take a screenshot of your camera screen, instead of taking a photo. This way, the image will have a smaller size.

  1. Tick the checkbox to agree with their policies and tap Submit.
  1. Lastly, a reference number will be shown on your screen. 

TM SIM Registration For At-Home Prepaid Wi-Fi

  1. Visit the TM registration page.
  1. Enter the mobile number for your Wi-Fi and tap register.
  1. The OTP will be sent to your modem inbox.

To access the modem inbox, you can follow these steps:-Connect the device to your Wi-Fi network.Visit 192.168.254.254 on your browser.Login with the credentials at the back of the modem. Tap Device on the left corner for the OTP.

  1. Disconnect the network and connect to your working internet source.
  1. Revisit the portal and enter the 6-digit code.
  1. Fill up the registration form with the correct details.
  1. Upload your ID and a selfie for verification.
  1. Agree to the policies and tap Submit.

Following this, you will successfully register your TM SIM card in the portal. If you have any other SIM from this brand, you can get it registered too. Simply follow the same steps for the second mobile number.

Requirements of SIM Card Registration of TM 

Before proceeding with the TM SIM registration, there are a few things you need. To make it easier for you, here’s a list of the basic requirements for the TM registration:

  1. Personal details
  2. Accurate address as per your voter ID
  3. Selfie
  4. ID proof

To prove your identification through online document verification, you can use various legal documents. These include:

  • Passport
  • Voter’s ID
  • Driver’s license
  • Police clearance
  • Firearms license
  • Senior citizen’s card

Besides these, you can upload any other verified government-issued ID that has your photo, real name, and nationality. 

Now, there are a few other requirements for users who are either a minor, a foreigner, or part of a corporate entity. Take a look at them below:

For Minors

Users who are under 18 cannot register the SIM card under their name. Instead, the number will be registered under the name of the legal guardian. Here’s what you need to register a minor user:

  • Legal guardian’s information – full name, contact, etc.
  • Minor’s information – full name, date of birth, contact, etc.
  • Guardian’s valid ID

For Foreigners

Foreigners who do not reside in the country but use the local SIM card will need additional documents. These include tourists who are just in the country for a small trip. The required information is:

  • Alien Certificate of Registration (for foreign residents only)
  • Passport
  • Current residency’s ID proof
  • Receipt of the SIM card (if possible)

For tourists, the sim card will be active for a short period, capped at 30 days.

For Business Entities

If the SIM card is bought under the name of a corporate entity for business purposes, it must be registered under their name. To register on the behalf of the company, you will require:

  • SEC Certificate of Registration 
  • The ID of an authorized representative
  • Entity information – name, address, contacts, etc.

By fulfilling the above-mentioned requirements, any user will be able to register their TM SIM on the portal.

How to Edit Details of A Pre-Saved SIM Card?

It may be that you have already registered your mobile number. However, you recently changed your address or mistyped a detail. In that case, you will be required to edit the details of the said mobile number. 

Thus, we’ve listed down the steps you need to take to modify your details. 

  1. Visit the registration portal.
  1. Click on the blue colored ‘Edit your details’ at the bottom.
    Click on Edit your details.
  1. Enter your mobile number and click Next.

  1. Enter the OTP sent to your number.
  1. After verification, you will be redirected to the details page.
  1. Make the changes you want.
  1. Tap on Next and recheck your ID details.
  1. Hit the Submit option. 

All the details will be updated on your number within 24 hours. You can follow the same process if you want to view the details. Always ensure that all your details remain up-to-date to prevent future problems.

Things To Keep In Mind While New TM SIM Registration

Now that you’re completely aware of the registration process, there are a few things to keep check of. Take a look at the rules below to prevent any problems in the future.

  • There’s no limit to the number of SIMs registered under one name.
  • Even if you have more than one TM SIM, you need to get them all registered one by one.
  • Only register a TM SIM in the portal. For others, use the portal provided by those telecom providers.
  • Save the reference number as proof of new TM com pH SIM registration.
  • Not registering the number on the portal can lead to deactivation.

Deadline For SIM TM Registration

Starting on 27th December 2022, the TM SIM registration portal became available for all users in the Philippines. To follow the guidelines of the SIM Registration Act, Globe has to set a deadline for the registration SIM card TM.

As per the announcement, the last date to register SIM TM was April 26th, 2023. That is, both new and old users had 180 days to complete their registration. 

However, being mindful of the huge user population, the deadline got extended for another 90 days. With that, the portal was to stop working on July 25th, 2023. 

All the SIM cards that remain unregistered after this period will face deactivation or get blocked by the company. Whether you’re an old user or recently purchased a new number, registration is a must.

How do I register a SIM card for a minor?

If the SIM card owner is under 18 years of age, then the SIM is to be registered under the guardian’s name. Keep in mind that this requires consent from the guardian for the registration.

What if my TM SIM has been deactivated?

After deactivation of the sim card, every user is given a grace period of 5 days. Within this period, users can top up their number to reactivate the sim card. If they’re unable to do so, the number will be permanently disabled.

Do I need to register a SIM under my name?

The mobile number always needs to be registered under the name of the person whose ID is used for the purchase. If the sim card gets registered under someone else’s name, it will be considered illegal.
